Leo Glavine was first elected to the NS Legislature to represent the people of Kings West in August 2003, and was re-elected in 2006 and 2009.
He worked as an educator for 30 years, first as a teacher and later as vice-principal of West Kings District High School. Leo was well known as a high school coach with many years committed to hockey, soccer, cross -country, track and field and softball. Leo's own participation in sports includes hockey, running, softball and golf.
As a life-long volunteer, he spent 15 years with the Kingston Volunteer Fire Department and 23 with the Western Kings Arena Board. He has also volunteered his time with the Kingston Steer BBQ, the Greenwood 10K Road Race, Terry Fox Run, Canadian Cancer Society and his church.
Leo and his wife Doris have resided in North Kingston for 30 years, where they raised their three sons.
Leo's present critic responsibilities include finance, agriculture, natural resources, gaming and youth.. He has served on Public Accounts, Natural Resources and Community Services Standing Committees. His favorite aspect of political life is his daily work with constituents.
He is often a passionate voice for rural Nova Scotia and is committed to using the political process to improve its' quality of life.
